Wild Explorers Afterschool
After the school day ends, join us for a walk on the wild side of science. Participants will spend 2 hours at Swaner from 3:30 to 5:30 one day a week during the 3-week session to learn more about nature and the science that powers it. Participants should be enrolled based on their current grade level.
Each day includes a small snack, outdoor time, and hands-on activities. Participants should come dressed and prepared for the weather each day.

Program runs from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. The cost for each 3-week session is $60 per participant.

October: Creatures of the Night Nocturnal creatures may own the night, but they’re taking over the day in this session! Uncover the mysteries of the night as we investigate the amazing adaptations of moths, owls, and bats! |

November: Critter Clues The Swaner Preserve is full of mysteries waiting to be solved! In this session, participants will put their detective skills to work and learn to decode the subtle signs animals leave behind. |

December: Masters of Disasters Let’s wreak havoc this week to become masters of disasters! We will explore the science behind natural disasters and discover ways humans plan and prepare for when nature strikes. |

January: Up in the Air Get ready for your curiosity to take flight as we investigate things that fly, flap, flutter, and sometimes fall! From airplanes to animals, participants will explore the science and engineering that powers flight. |

Fee waivers are available on a first come, first served basis. To apply for a fee waiver, please fill out the online application. Cancellations will receive a 50% refund only if your spot can be filled from the waitlist. If your spot cannot be filled, you will not receive a refund. No refunds will be given for days missed during the session.
Registrations are nontransferable.
