    Sandhill Cranes Live Webcam

Check out our Live feed of one of our Sandhill Crane Nests right on the Preserve!  This nest has two eggs that were laid in early April.  Sandhill Cranes have an Incubation Period of 29-32 days, so we expect to see babies by early May.

    May is American Wetlands Month

Did you know that 65% of the Swaner Preserve is considered wetland?

These moisture-laden areas clean your water, provide flood protection, and are a refuge for wildlife. Wetlands around the world are threatened, but you can help restore Swaner’s by volunteering or donating to help with our conservation efforts.

    The EcoCenter is Open!

The EcoCenter is open Friday – Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm. Our community’s health and safety is our primary objective. We have made some updates to the EcoCenter experience. We will cap the number of guests at a time to 20, and have new cleaning procedures in place to do all that we can to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Face coverings will be required in accordance with Summit County order number 2020-09. For those with conditions that prevent them from wearing a mask, please call 435-797-8943. We will provide reasonable accommodations that allow for safe enjoyment of the Preserve and EcoCenter for all.

More information about the EcoCenter’s reopening policies can be found here

Our staff continues to be available by phone and email. Don’t hesitate to contact us with your questions, for more information, or just to say hello! Contact information can be found here.
