Spring Break Camps
April 8th - 12th | 9 am - 4 pm
Registration opens March 4th at 6:00 am
Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter is excited to offer 5 days of fun, outdoor camp during the Park City’s Spring Break. Campers will explore the Preserve through adventure, art, science, and more!
Spring Break Camp is open to youth currently enrolled in 1st through 5th grades. Kindergarteners may not attend—no exceptions. Camp begins each morning at 9 am and ends at 4 pm (drop off is allowed at 8:45 am. No late pick up available). Two snacks will be provided (one in the morning and one in the afternoon), but campers should bring their own sack lunch (that does not require heating) and a reusable water bottle each day. More information, including daily agendas, packing list, and specific agendas will be sent out about a week before camp begins.
Wings & Water: Complete art projects, science experiments, and play games to learn about animals that fly in the sky and dive in the water! Use binoculars to observe birds on the preserve, explore Swaner streams, and investigate how water and wings are important to our special ecosystem!
Jaws & Claws: Become animal experts for a day, as we explore behind-the-scenes of Swaner’s newest traveling exhibit, Nature’s Ninjas. Learn what exactly it takes to care for the animals in the exhibit, and explore how these animals protect themselves!
Roots & Shoots: Just in time for the start of spring, campers will investigate different types of plants found on the Swaner Preserve and in Park City. In the afternoon, EATS Park City will join us for a special cooking lesson!
Scales & Tales: Use your creativity to observe the environment and the wildlife you see! Become inspired by some scaly creatures during a special meet and greet, then put your creative writing skills to work to describe what you felt, saw, smelled, and listened to!
Fur & Footprints: Learn more about the animals that call the Swaner Preserve home! Explore for signs of animals that may be left behind, play fun animal-themed games, learn about some of the special ways that scientists collect field data about native animals, and enjoy a special guest visit from the animal ambassadors of Wild Wonders!
The cost of each camp is $60 per day. This fee helps to cover the cost of supplies for activities, any special guest visitors, our staff’s time planning and facilitating camp, snacks, facility expenses, and more.
Tuition waivers available on case to case basis. Please contact Katherine Veeder, Education Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (435)797-8942 for more information.
