Wild Explorers: Swaner’s Afterschool Program
After the school day ends, join us for a walk on the wild side of science. Participants will spend 2 hours at Swaner from 3:30 to 5:30 one day a week during the 3-week session to learn more about nature and the science that powers it. Participants should be enrolled based on their current grade level.
Each day includes a small snack, outdoor time, and hands-on activities. Participants should come dressed and prepared for the weather each day.
Protecting the health and safety of our participants, staff, and community are a top priority at Swaner. The following policies will be implemented during this program to help prevent the spread of COVID-19:
• Face coverings that cover the mouth and nose are required for all participants during
any indoor activities,
and for outdoor activities when maintaining a distance of 6 feet or more is not possible. Staff will wear masks
at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
• Class sizes will be limited to no more than 14 participants and 4 staff.
• Drop off and pick up will occur outside the EcoCenter. Adult guardians and non-participants will not be allowed
to enter the EcoCenter during drop off or pick up.
• All staff and participants will be screened upon arrival. This includes a temperature check, and visually and verbally checking for symptoms or known exposure.
• Participants who have been exposed to someone who is suspected of or known to have COVID-19 within
14 days of the program will not be able to participate.
